탐색적 요인분석에서 중복부하 문항 활용을 위한 RoVARs 지수의 타당성 검토

Investigating the feasibility of the RoVARs index to evaluate multi-factor loading items in exploratory factor analysis

본 연구에서는 탐색적 요인분석 결과 나타난 중복부하 문항을 활용하는 것이 하위검사의 양호도를 개선하는지 여부를 판단하기 위해 사용될 수 있는 RoVARs 지수가 실제 자료와 다양한 모의실험 조건 속에서 기대한 바대로 기능하는지를 살펴보았다. 모의실험 결과를 바탕으로 중복부하 문항 활용 여부를 결정할 때 참고할 만한 사항을 도출하였는데, 모의실험 조건은 요인 간 상관과 단일부하 수준 및 중복부하 수준이었다. 실제 자료와 모의실험 자료를 분석한 연구 결과, RoVARs 지수가 적절히 기능함을 확인하였으며 이에 따른 실제 중복부하 문항 활용 상의 유의점을 도출할 수 있었다. 예를 들어, 단일부하 수준이 낮은 문항들로만 이루어진 경우 요인 간 상관이 높은 중복부하 문항을 활용할 경우 하위검사의 양호도가 개선되었는데, 이 때 RoVARs는 중복부하 활용을 대부분 추천하였다. 반대로, 단일부하 수준이 높은 문항들로만 이루어진 경우 요인 간 상관이 낮은 중복부하 문항을 활용할 경우 하위검사의 양호도가 악화되었는데, 이 경우 RoVARs는 중복부호 문항사용을 권장하지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

This study investigated whether the Ratio of Value Added Ratios (RoVARs), which determine whether to increase the reliability and validity of a test by using multi-factor loading items functioned properly in the actual data and various simulation study condition. Also, on the basis of the results, items that can be referred to when deciding whether to use the multi-factor loading items. The simulation study conditions were the correlation between factors and the loading level of single-factor loading itmes and multi-factor loading items. The main findings are as follows. First of all, as a result of analyzing actual data and simulation data, it was found that RoVARs function properly. And, accordingly, it was possible to derive the points to be noted for practical use. For example, when only items with a low loading level of single-factor loading items were used, the multi-factor with high correlation loading items improved the subscore’s reliability and validity. Then, the RoVARs recommended using the items. Also, when using only single-factor loading items with high level loading, the multi-factor with low correlation loading items loading items reduced the subscore’s reliability and validity. Then, the RoVARS told not to use the items.
