Analysis of Facility Modernization Policy Effect for Improvement of Fruit Quality

This study analyzes policy effect on farmers who participated in the facility modernization policy for improvement of fruit quality. We focus on grape and pear farmers, which account for a relatively large proportion of domestic fruits. Based on the sample collected from the survey on both farmers who participated in the policy and those who did not, we conduct basic statistical analysis and Propensity Score Matching. The result shows that the competitiveness of grape farmers who participated in the policy increased in terms of fruit quality and production volume. The policy greatly contributed to an increase in brix, farm prices and production volume. Pears also showed an improvement in the quality of fruit. Overall satisfaction with the policy showed a very high score, and was recorded as the most satisfied in fruit quality improvement.
