Changes in Korea s Comprehensive and Integrative Medical Policy through the Characteristics Analysis of China s Integrated Medical Policy
China is not only the country with the largest number of Chinese medicine-related medical institutions and professionals but also the earliest initiation of policy interest and support for integrated medicine. Since the 1950s, shortly after the establishment of the People s Republic of China, the Chinese government pursued both the introduction of Western medicine and the development of Chinese medicine and advocated the integration between Chinese and Western medicine. This study examines the changing process of China s integrated medical development policy that has been pursued since the establishment of New China. The characteristics of the system and the promotion system of integrated medicine were analyzed. And to develop integrated medicine, the policy of fostering integrated medical professionals, which is the most important factor, was detailed. The characteristics and policy implications of China s integrated medical policy are as follows: First, a systematic management system for the integrated Chinese and Western Medicine was established; Second, the system of fostering professional medical personnel needed to provide high-quality integrated medical services in Chinese and Western medicine was established; Third, the independent certification system for integrated medical professionals in Chinese and Western medicine is established and implemented.
