예비유아교사의 음악 및 음악교육에 대한 인식 연구

A Study on the Perceptions of Preservice Early Childhood Teachers on Music and Music Education

본 연구는 예비유아교사들의 음악 및 음악교육에 대한 인식을 알아보고 분석하는 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 본 연구의 대상은 A시에 위치한 4년제 유아교육과에 재학 중인 예비유아교사 41명으로 여학생 40명, 남학생 1명으로 구성되었다. 예비유아교사들은 음악과 음악교육에 대한 자신의 경험, 느낌, 생각, 설명, 의미, 해석 등을 자유롭게 기술하였다. 연구의 분석절차는 자료 수집과 동시에 이루어졌으며 자료는 반복적인 검토를 통해 나의 감정과 함께하는 음악, 그 자체로 중요한 음악, 평가로 의미가 결정되는 음악, 과외활동으로서의 음악 등 4가지 범주로 분류되었다. 본 연구의 예비유아교사들은 유년기의 다양한 음악적 경험들을 기억하고 있었으며 이러한 경험들이 현재에도 긍정적 또는 부정적 영향을 미치고 있다고 인식하였다. 그러나, 예비유아교사들은 모두 교사로서 유아교육현장에서 음악 활동을 적절히 수행할 수 있기를 희망하고 있었으며 특히 유아들이 음악에 즐거움과 흥미를 느끼는 것에 대해 중요하게 생각하였다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 교원양성기관에서 예비유아교사들의 음악과 음악교육에 대한 이해와 생각을 바탕으로 향후 음악 활동에 대한 교수 방법과 긍정적인 인식을 강화시킬 수 있는 시작점을 제시할 수 있다는 데 본 연구의 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze the perceptions of music and music education for preservice early childhood teachers. The subjects consisted of 41 college students (40 female students, 1 male student) who are enrolled in a 4-year Early Childhood Education Program. The preservice teachers expressed their experiences, feelings, thoughts, explanations, meanings, and interpretations of music and music education. Analysis of the data revealed four categories: music with my emotions through repeated review, music that is important by itself, music whose meaning is determined by evaluation, and music as extracurricular activities. The preservice teachers in this research remembered their musical experiences from childhood and recognized that these experiences had a positive or negative effect until this day. All preservice teachers hoped that they would be able to carry out music teaching activities in early childhood education as teachers. Pedagogically, they thought that it was important that children enjoy and have interest in music. Hence, in this study, we have clear research and practical implications that are interrelated with teaching methods and perceptions of music activities.
