Activating of Governance for Community Development in the Philippines

The aim of this study is to seek the description on the activating of governance for community development in the Philippines: that is, concept of governance, problem and goal within community development in the Philippines, and activity of NGO s for governance build in the area concern/strategy for effective service delivery to the beneficiaries. With respect to the above, conclusions are driven from the studies as followings; 1) The process of organizing the NGOs is an important factor in performing the task of community development. The government that organizes a private sector implemented by association should not be imposed upon community but should be emanated from them. 2) Identification with the community is a significant variable in the process of organizing the NGOs. The participatory approach to organizational planning appears to be more effective than the dole out system in developing an strong sense of belonging or ownership among the organization members. 4. The agent s performance in the formation process should not stop at the stage of having elected the set of officials but should extend up to the time when the organization members acquire some skills and knowledge as to the management and operation of the organization effectively.
