An Analysis on the Life Actual Conditions and Factors Determining Martial Happiness of Female Marriage Immigrants

This study was examined the level of marital happiness and analyze the various factors influencing on marital happiness among female marriage immigrants(FMI). Participants were 165(78.6%) FMI who lived in Daesion, Chungcheongnam-do and Chungcheongbuk-do, Korea. Data was collected using a self administrated questionnaire and a separate interview from August 15 through September 15, 2008. A x2-test, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data using the SPSS 12.0 Windows. Regarding total marital happiness, the meal score was 3.59 from 5 points Likert scale. It was higher than the medium level of the scale. As the results of multiple regression analysis, the factors influencing on marriage happiness among FMI were husband s understanding and have family support in sending money to their native countries for economic assistant. The explanatory power of these variables was 29.0% which was a little low. Through the study, it was proved that husband s understanding is the most important factor impacting on marital happiness among FMI. This result suggest that the specific strategies of family social work intervention for enhancing marital happiness among FMI.
