Drawing upon a sample of 30 people associated with supporting regional innovation system at local level of three countries, Korea, UK, and Ireland, this article investigates the extent to which cooperation for innovation is associated with firm level innovativeness and how the network actors are connected with each other. To deal with these questions, I review the literature on innovation in order to construct an analysis framework and to see how the network actors behave for their own benefits. In addition, to supplement the documentary analysis, the interview method is employed to identify how actually the network actors have done within the regional innovation systems especially with regard to maintaining their own benefits. Assuming that innovation is not a discrete event but a complex process, I demonstrate three networked structure of the actors operating within each regional innovation system, based on the analysis by the UCINET 6.
