SNS 사용자집단의 네트워크 특성과 정치참여인식에 관한 연구

A Study on the Network Characteristics and Political Participation of SNS User Group

이 논문은 SNS의 다양한 정치적 활용을 목도하면서, SNS가 야기하는 정치참여 효과에 관한 분석을 시도하였다. 연구자들은 SNS 사용자집단의 네트워크 특성에 따른 정치참여 인식의 차이를 바탕으로 정치참여의 함의를 도출하고자 했다. 연구방법론은 설문조사를 바탕으로 한 계량적 연구방법론을 적용하였다. 연구 결과, 한국의 SNS 사용자와 비사용자집단 간에, 그리고 네트워크의 특성에 따른 정치참여인식의 차이가 존재함을 확인할 수 있었다. 연구에서는 SNS 사용자와 비사용자 간에는 비관습적인 정치참여의 통계적인 유의성이 확인되었다. 그리고 SNS 사용자집단 내에서도 각각 네트워크 특성에 따라 다른 정치참여 지향성이 확인되었다. 첫째, SNS 네트워크 사용강도(빈도)는 더 많이 사용할수록 온라인 정치참여 지향성이 강했다. 둘째, SNS 네트워크의 규모면에서는 규모가 클수록 관습적인 정치참여와 온라인 정치참여가 강한 것으로 도출되었다. 셋째, SNS 커뮤니티 활동은 커뮤니티 활동을 하는 집단인 경우 관습적·비관습적·온라인 정치참여인식 등 전 변인에 있어 통계적인 유의성이 확인되었다.

SNS users are increasing in the information society. The increase of the SNS user group has a great social impact. In recent years, there has been debate about the political effects of SNS. The purpose of this paper is to describe the effects of political participation by SNS users. In detail, we set the network size, network intensity, and network activities of SNS users as variables. We also analyzed the effect of each network on political participation. Political participation variables were conventional political participation, unconventional political participation, and online political participation. The research methodology of the paper applied quantitative research methodology using the survey results.
