South Korea’s Move to Realize the Northeast Asian Vision : Focusing on Northeast Asian Hub Strategy of Roh Moo-hyun Administration

Roh Moo-hyun administration presents the Northeast Asian vision to deal with the new circumstances of post cold war, economic globalization and the ascendence of China. The Northeast Asian vision emphasizes competitiveness approach in order to enforce competitiveness capability in the three fields: logistics, finance and R&D, and it is a kind of survival strategy through the interconnection and cooperation with the neighboring countries. With relation to the strategy of accomplishing the Northeast Asian vision, this article accepts the utility of R&D hub or logistics hub strategy, but the Northeast Asian vision should be pursued three-dimensionally because of the interdependent complexity and multi-dimension of economy.
