Study on the Improvement of Taekwondo Competition Rules for Olympic Core Games

The purpose of this study is to find out how to improve the competition rules to keep Taekwondo as a core Olympic sport. As a research method, a panel-centered open-ended questionnaire survey method was used. Accordingly, the research results indicated that improvement of scoring and admission techniques, improvement of game management, and improvement of uniforms and facilities were necessary. Considering the results of the study, in order for the Olympic Taekwondo competition to develop continuously, changes in technology and rules must be made constantly. In addition, efforts should be made to secure the sustainability, popularity, economic feasibility, and stability of sports proposed by the International Olympic Committee.
