요한계시록 17:1-18에 나타난 음녀에 대한 심판

본 논문에서 살펴본 17장의 내용은 음녀에 대한 심판을 다루고 있다.(17:1) 그 음녀에 대한 심판은 16:19에 나타난 큰 성 바벨론에 대한 심판으로, 여기에는 음녀의 죄와(17:3-6) 이에 대한 하나님의 심판을 담고 있는데,(17:15-18) 그 사이에 이 음녀의 토대이자 이 음녀를 심판하는 도구로 쓰인 짐승에 대한 설명이(17:7-14) 들어 있다. 이 음녀에 대한 심판에서 확인할 수 있는 것은 이 심판이 역사의 끝에 일어날 종말의 심판이 아니라 역사 중간에 일어날 역사적인 심판이라는 것이다. 그것은 이 심판에서 요한계시록에서 성도들을 박해한 세력으로, 그래서 하나님의 심판을 받아야할 짐승이 심판을 받지 않고 오히려 심판의 도구로 사용되고 있다는 점에서, 더 나아가 그가 여덟째 왕으로 일곱 왕들과 대비되는 새로운 시대를 연다는 점에서도 이를 추론할 수 있다. 그런 맥락에서 볼 때 음녀는 역사상 존재한 국가로 봐야하는데, 여러 가지 본문의 증거상 그것은 로마로 보는 것이 타당하다. 그에 반하여 이 음녀를 심판하는 짐승은 음녀의 시대에도 존재했지만, 그를 심판하는 도구로 사용된다는 점에서 모든 시대에 걸쳐 존재하는 역사 초월적인 세력임을 확인할 수 있다. 마땅히 심판 받아야할 짐승이 오히려 심판의 도구가 되어 새로운 시대를 연다는 것은, 한편으로는 성도들이 음녀에 대한 심판 이후에도 계속 해서 짐승이 상징하는 악한 세력에 대한 투쟁을 멈춰서는 안된다는 메시지와 함께 또한 그러나 이 짐승에 의한 파괴 또한 하나님의 주권에 의한 심판이라는 것은(17:17) 최종적인 심판과 함께(19:11-20:10) 역사의 주관자이신 하나님에 대한 신뢰를 견고하게 붙잡게 해준다. 오늘 우리가 사는 세상도 악한 사탄의 세력은 끊임없이 성도들의 신앙을 억압하고 무너지게 하지만 그러나 그 속에서 하나님의 심판과 구원은 계속해서 일어나는 것임을 요 17장은 우리에게 잘 보여준다.

In contradiction to the harlot, the beast works continuedly in the course of the history, not only in the ear of the harlot but also ever since The fact that the beast that deserves to be judged rather becomes a tool of judgment and opens a new era, on the one hand, indicates that the saints should continue to fight against the evil powers symbolized by the beast even after the judgment on the harlot, on the other means that the God s sovereignty in the judgment on the harlot through the beast(17:17) with the last judgment(19:11-20:10), makes us firmly hold on to our trust in God, the ruler of history. Also in our days the evil power of Satan constantly oppresses and destroys the faith of the saints, but God s judgment and salvation for the saints continue, which Rev. 17 shows us well.
