매개효과 분석에서 오차 간 상관을 고려한 경향점수 역확률가중치 활용방법

본 연구에서는 오차 간 상관을 고려한 경향점수 역확률가중치를 매개효과를 분석하는 상황에 적용하고 활용방법을 소개하고자 하였다. 구체적으로, 중학교 1학년 시기 동아리활동 참여가 중학년 2학년 시기 동아리활동 참여를 매개로 협업능력에 미치는 효과를 분석하는 상황을 통해, 오차 간 상관을 고려한 경향점수 역확률가중치의 활용가능성을 확인하고 통계적 분석을 위한 틀을 제시하였다. 자료 분석에는 KCYPS 2018 데이터를 활용하였으며, 분석 절차는 이변량 프로빗모형을 활용한 경향점수 추정, 경향점수 역확률가중치를 통한 선택편의 조정, 매개효과 분석의 순서로 이루어졌다. 실제자료 분석결과, 경향점수 추정 과정에서 처치변수와 매개변수의 오차 간 상관이 실제로 존재하는 것으로 나타나 경향점수 추정 시 오차 간 상관을 반영해야 할 필요성을 확인하였다. 또한 경향점수 역확률가중치를 적용했을 때 공변인 균형이 잘 확보되는 것으로 나타났고 해당 방법이 유용하게 활용될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 논의에서는 매개효과 분석에서 오차 간 상관을 고려한 경향점수 역확률가중치 활용의 장점 및 제한점에 대한 추가적인 논의를 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to apply propensity score considering error correlation and inverse probability weighting to mediation model and show the empirical example using this method. In this study, how participation in club activities affects collaboration competency was analyzed using KCYPS 2018 data and applicability of the method of propensity score considering error correlation in mediation analysis was investigated. The data analysis was conducted three-step process of propensity score estimation using bivariate probit model, correction of selection bias applying propensity score weighting, and estimating mediation effect using weighted mediation model. The result of empirical data analysis revealed the error correlation in propensity score estimation between the treatment and mediator existed. When using propensity score weighting considering error correlation, differences in covariates between groups was well corrected. These results showed propensity score weighting considering error correlation could be useful in mediation analysis. Discussions were provided on the advantage and limitation of propensity score weighting in mediation analysis considering error correlation.
