국어교육을 위한 역할모델의 유형과 국어교육에서의 역할모델 도입의 방향

Types of role models for Korean language education and direction of introduction of role models in Korean language education

본고는 현재 국어교육이 처한 위기, 즉 학습자의 국어 학습에 대한 낮은 흥미와 태도, 진로교육에서의 문제 등을 엄중하게 인식하고, 이와 관련된 새로운 연구 문제로서 국어교육을 위한 역할모델 연구를 제안하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 역할모델의 개념과 교육적 의의를 살펴보았다. 역할모델은 Nauta와 Kokaly(2001: 82-83)를 따라 ‘자신의 진로나 궁극적 관심사와 관련하여 자신이 존경하고 닮고 싶어 하는 인물로서 단순히 귀감이 되는 것뿐만 아니라 방향을 제시하고 지지해 주는 역할을 함으로써 학업 및 진로 발달을 촉진시키는 사람’으로 정의하였다. 역할모델의 국어교육적 의의는 크게 1) 국어 학습에 대한 동기 부여 및 흥미 유발 2) 국어 및 국어 학습, 국어 능력에 대한 태도 변화 추동 3) 국어 능력 신장을 위한 구체적 모델링(modeling) 대상 제공 4) 학습자의 진로(국어과의 진로교육 및 국어과 진로교육 관련) 발달에 긍정적 영향으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 다음으로 Ⅲ장에서는 국어교육에서 제시할 수 있는 역할모델의 유형을 크게 1) 국어 교사, 2) 부모, 3) 유명인으로 나누어 살펴보고, 각 유형의 특징과 의의를 예시를 통해 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 Ⅳ장에서는 역할모델 도입의 방향성을 교육과정 및 교과서 차원, 학습자 차원으로 나누어 시론의 수준에서 살펴보았다.

This paper seriously recognizes the current crisis in Korean language education, that is, learners low interest and negative attitude toward Korean language learning, and problems in career education. And proposes role models for Korean language education as a related new research problem. To this end, first, the concept of role model and educational significance were examined. The concept of role model follows Nauta & Kokaly (2001: 82-83): a person whom someone respects and wants to resemble in relation to his or her career and ultimate interests, also a person who promotes academic and career development by playing a supporting role. The significance of the role model in Korean language education is the aspect of motivating and inducing interest in learning the Korean language, the aspect of driving changes in attitude toward Korean language, learning Korean language and Korean language ability, the aspect of providing specific modeling targets for enhancing Korean language ability, and the aspect of learners choice of career. Next, in chapter III, the types of role models that can be presented in Korean language education are divided into 1) Korean language teachers, 2) parents, 3) celebrities, and the characteristics and significance of each type are examined through examples. Finally, in chapter IV, the direction of role model introduction is presented by dividing it into curriculum, textbook level, and learner level.
