‘불륜’ 드라마에 내재된 여성인물의 정념 고찰

A Study on the Passion of the Female Character in the Drama about ‘Infidelity’: Focusing on the TV drama, <The World of the Married>

본고는 사회와 문화라는 제도적 맥락을 벗어나기 어려운 TV 드라마가 ‘불륜(immorality)’ 소재를 새롭게 소환한 미니시리즈 <부부의 세계>를 대상으로 불륜을 전유하는 방식과 드라마에 내재된 여성인물의 정념화를 문맥화하였다. 이에 본고는 기존의 지배적인 윤리적 잣대를 기반으로 드라마의 도덕적 가치에 대해 논의된 여성의 상투적 재현에 대한 비판과 사회적 인식, 변화를 추적하였으며 그 결과는 다음과같다. 첫째, 불륜을 전유한 담론과 금기의 위반에서는 신경증적 정념인 분노를 발견할 수있다. 둘째, 관습화의 변형과 드라마의 상품화에 담긴 불안정한 정념인 애증을 포착할 수 있다. 셋째, 모성신화와 가족이데올로기의 재구를 통해서는 도덕적 정념인 모성을 발견할 수 있다. 페미니즘과 접목한 정념의 분석은 ‘불륜’에 대한 오랜 관습과 규범을 파괴하며 견고하게 유지된 가족제도에 대한 변화와 회귀를 동시에 보여준다. 드라마 <부부의 세계>를 통해 현실적·여성적 시각과 가족주의가 첨예하게 부딪친 힘의 역학이 작용하는 장(場)을 바탕으로 드라마 속에 호출되는 불륜과 배신 증오와 애증 등은 진실을 투척하는 여성인물의 섬세한 정념에 유기적 연관을 내포하고 있다. 따라서 아직도 남성의 특권이 일정 지분 확보된 현실에서 구조 변동의 격랑 속을 표류하는 여성인물에게가족 이데올로기를 강조하며 모성신화와 근대성의 회귀를 보이는 드라마적 장치의변화와 변용을 살펴보는 것은 사랑과 결혼에 대한 보다 다양한 모습을 조망하는 가치있는 분석이다.

This paper examines “The World of the Married,” which brought renewed attention to the subject of “immoral intimacy” through the medium of a TV miniseries, wherein it is difficult to escape the institutional context of society and culture. This paper reconsiders the presentation of the affair and the passion of the female character in the TV show. To this end, this paper highlights the criticism, social perception, and changes in the conventional representation of female characters noted in discussions about the moral values portrayed in the TV show based on the dominant ethical standards. The findings are as follows: First, in discourse on infidelity and the violation of taboos, it has been noted that anger is a neurotic passion. Second, the simultaneous existence of love and hatred in a relationship (i.e., an unstable passion) is captured in modified conventions and commercialized drama. Finally, the reconstruction of the maternal myth, family ideology, and motherhood, which represent a moral passion, is noted in the aforementioned character. Therefore, based on the dominant moral compass, this paper examines the criticism, social perception, and changes in the conventional representation of women, which is discussed in relation with the moral value of the TV show. The analysis of passion, combined with feminist theory, destroys the old customs and norms regarding infidelity and shows both the changes and regressions in the family system, which remains influential. In “The World of the Married,” hegemony sharply collides with realistic female perspectives and familism. The infidelity, betrayal, enmity, and the simultaneous existence of love and hatred depicted in the TV show are connected with the delicate passion of the female character, who uncovers the truth. Therefore, it is worth examining the changes and transformations of the factors that seek a return to maternal mythology and premodernity by highlighting the family ideology of the female character, who has survived turbulent experiences of structural change in a situation where some male privileges remain secured.
