Narrative Literature Review of the Interpersonal Synchronization Task for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder

본 연구에서는 자폐스펙트럼장애로 진단받은 대상자에게 대인간 동기화 과제를 적용하여신경학적 손상이 없는 대조 그룹과 비교한 국외 실험연구를 고찰하여 과제의 영향 요인 간관계를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 총 13편의 연구를 내러티브 문헌 고찰의 방법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 선정 논문은 대인간 동기화 과제의 속성, 수행수준 및 다른 지표와의관련성의 측면에서 분석하였고, 분석된 결과를 통합하여 대인간 동기화 과제에 영향을 미치는 요인 간 관계를 도식화하였다. 연구 결과, 자폐스펙트럼장애인의 대인간 동기화는 대조그룹에 비해 저하된 반면, 이러한 수행수준은 적용 과제에 따라 달라지는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 대인간 동기화에 영향을 미치는 다양한 요인은 각각 다른 기제로 과제에 영향을 미칠수 있음이 나타났다. 본 연구는 이론적 및 임상적 측면에서 강조되는 중요성에 비해 아직체계적인 근거가 확립되지 않은 대인간 동기화에 대한 통합적 분석을 시도했다는 데 그 의의가 있다.

This study aimed to review the literature on the interpersonal synchronization (IS) task for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and explore the relationships between task factors. A narrative review was conducted with 13 English-written experimental studies that compared IS task performance between individuals with ASD and neurotypical individuals. The results supported impaired IS performance in individuals with ASD, while the level of performance depended on specific task attributes. The relationship between IS and other developmental measures indicated that various factors may influence IS performance depending on the type of task applied. This study provided integrated insights into the multifaceted factors of the IS task with clinical implication for more diversified assessment and intervention with regard to social skills in this population.
