유럽축구에서의 인종차별에 관한 연구

A Study on Racism in the European Football League : Implications for Multicultural Society

COVID-19로 인한 국제사회의 변화는 정치, 경제, 문화 등 전반에 걸쳐 나타나고 있다. 유럽축구에서의 인종차별은 잘못된 응원문화의 형태로 나타나고 있으며 최근에는‘코로나 인종차별’ 사례로 더욱 증가하고 있다. 선수, 관중, 구단 등이 행위자가 되는인종차별 행위는 법적 규제와 사회적 운동으로 대응하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 스포츠의사회통합적 기능에 주목하고 유럽축구에서의 인종차별에 대한 대응에 관한 분석을 통해 다문화사회에서 적용할 수 있는 시사점을 두 가지로 제시한다. 첫째 ‘보는 스포츠’ 에 대한 다문화 미디어교육 프로그램 개발이다. 둘째, 시민교육으로 확산을 위한 시민단체의 역량강화이다. 이를 통해 스포츠 활동이 분쟁과 갈등을 평화로 협력으로 이끌어내고 인종차별을 예방하고 다문화 사회의 인식 개선을 선도할 수 있는 매개체가 되길바란다.

Changes in the international community due to COVID-19 are taking place throughout politics, economy and culture. Racism in European football has emerged as a wrong form of cheering culture, and has recently increased to the number of ‘corona racism’ cases. Racism, in which players, spectators and clubs become actors, is responding with legal regulations and social movements. This study focuses on the social integration function of sports and presents two possible implications for multicultural society through an analysis of the response to racism in European football. First is the development of multicultural media education programs for ‘watching sports’. Second, strengthening the capacity of civic groups to spread to civic education. Through this, we hope that sports activities will lead to peace and cooperation, prevent racism, and lead to better awareness of multicultural society.
