Object Recognition and the Digital Art of Posthumans: The Posthuman Identity

4차 산업혁명의 시대에서 인공지능의 발전으로 야기된 담론은 계속해서 새로운 인간을 언급하고 있다. 일반적으로 이 새로운 인간을 우리는 포스트휴먼이라 부른다. 포스트휴먼은 이미지나미디어를 통해 정보를 수용하는 데 완벽히 적응한 인간이라 할 수 있으며, 이 글은 이들이 대상을인식하는 방식이 어떠한지를 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 통해 이 글은 현재 제기되고 있는 다양한포스트휴먼 담론들을 검토하고자 한다. 또한 이 글은 디지털 아트에 대한 논의를 진행하고자 한다. 디지털 아트는 4차 산업혁명 시대에 인간이 대상을 인식하는 방식을 이해하는 데 중요한 단초를 제공하기에 포스트휴먼에 관한 담론에서 중요한 위상을 차지한다. 우선, 포스트휴먼은 완성체가 아니라 일종의 지향점이다. 즉 포스트휴먼에 이르기까지는 일정한 과정이 필요하다. 포스트휴먼의 지향점이라면 그 시작은 지금의 인간, 휴먼이다. 진화의 결과가 휴먼이듯이 포스트휴먼 역시인간이 진화한 결과로 보아야 한다. 문제는 이 과정이 자연적 진화가 아니라 기술의 발전을 통해매우 짧은 시간에 이루어진다는 데 있다. 중요한 점은 인간의 신체는 아직 사이보그가 되기 위한극적인 변화를 겪지 않았다. 즉 현재의 휴먼의 관점에서 우리는 포스트휴먼에 관하여 논의를 할수밖에 없다. 휴먼에서 포스트휴먼으로 이행은 단절적인 전환이 아니라 과정으로 이해될 때, 포스트휴먼은 완전한 실체가 아니라 담론으로 존재한다. 인식의 결과로서 담론은 다양한 의견으로다시 분화되고, 다음 세대 인간에 대한 논의는 유토피아와 디스토피아라는 대립적 진영 논리가아닌, 일종의 위상학적 차원으로 환원된다. 이 글은 이와 관련된 다양한 담론들을 살펴봄으로써포스트휴먼의 정체성을 해명하고자 한다.

Discourse regarding the development of artificial intelligence in the era of the 4th industrial revolution continues to refer to new humans. In general, we call this new human ”posthuman.” Posthumans can be said to be humans perfectly adapted to accepting information through images and media. This article examines how they might perceive objects, and reviews various posthuman discourses currently being raised in an attempt to discuss digital art. Digital art occupies an important position in the discourse on posthumans because it constitutes an important step in understanding the way humans perceive objects in the 4th industrial revolution. First, posthuman is not a bodily concept but refers to a kind of orientation. A certain process is required to reach the posthuman whose beginning is the human being . Just as the result of evolution is human, posthumans should be viewed as the result of human evolution. However, this process takes place in a very short time, and not through natural evolution but through technological advances. As the human body has not yet undergone dramatic changes to become a cyborg, from the current human perspective, we have no choice but to discuss. When the transition from human to posthuman is understood as a process rather than a disconnected transition, the posthuman exists as a type of discourse rather than a complete reality, and the discussion of the next generation of humans reduces to a kind of topological dimension, not the opposing camp logics of utopia and dystopia. This article attempts to clarify the posthuman identity by examining various discourses related to it.
