고향 이미지 반영을 통한 주민주도의 도시형 마을만들기를 위한 연구

A study of resident-led Community(Maul) Building through reflection of hometown image

마을만들기는 심화되는 공동체 기반의 주민성 결여와 고립 심화 등에 따른 사회적 위기를 극복하기 위한 대안적 시도이다. 고향은 과거의 경험과 기억에만 머무는 것이 아니라 사회적 언어로서 통시적 인간 삶을 재설정하는 사회적 핵심어이다. 이러한 관점에서 고향 이미지는 마을만들기를 위한 유의미한 방향과 내용을 제공할 수 있다. 이 연구는 고향 이미지를 반영한 도시 마을만들기의 필요를 제기하고, 현장사례를 통하여 마을만들기가 가지는 대안적 기여에 대하여 살펴보고자 하였다. 사례 현장에서 마을만들기를 주도하는 주민들은 마을만들기에 대한 이해 수준과 접근 계기에는 차이가 있음에도 불구하고, 마을을 상호주관적으로 실재하는 것으로 인식하면서 탈정치의 주민운동과 주민주도 마을 플랫폼 기반 구축을 중요하게 실천하면서, 마을이 거주와 소비에 머무는 수준을 넘어서서 생산과 생애를 함께하는 ‘마을살이’를 구현해 가고 있었다. 마을만들기는 마을의 특성을 강점화하고, 주민공간을 기반으로 거주와 여가 차원을 넘어서 생산을 함께하는 내발･자조적 생활공동체를 구현해야 한다. 도시 마을만들기는 주민이 고향 이미지를 마을에 적절하게 구현하고 활용할 때 주민과 지역 발전에 기여하게 될 것이다.

Community(Maul) building is an alternative attempt to overcome social crisis of the intensifying lack of residents and isolation in the declining area. This study attempted to examine the necessity of Maul building reflecting the image of hometown and alternative contributions through Maul cases. Hometown is a key word that resets human life as a social language, not just dwelling on past experiences and memories. On that level, image of hometown can provide a meaningful direction for Maul building. The residents who lead Maul building at the example site recognize that the village is mutual subjectively exist. And residents were realizing a village life where production and life were shared beyond the village of residence and consumption based on the post-political residents movement and village platform led by residents. Maul building movement can be seen as a significant attempt to contribute to the residents and the region by strengthening the characteristics of the community and realizing a self-help living community that goes beyond living and leisure based on the residents space.
