A Study on the Korean Company's Overseas Expansion Strategy Through Vietnam Franchise Business Structure Analysis

Mac Donald, large business of American fast food, had recently opened number 1 branch shop at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to pay attention to Vietnamese franchise market again. Franchise business in the world thinks that opening of branch shop of Mac Donald, representative franchise business, indicates Mac Donald's paying attention of the Vietnamese market to enter new market and to be valuable to domestic franchise business as well. The United States introduced franchise business franchise business system for the first time after the World War Two and then Japan introduced it. South Korea introduced franchise business system in 1979 to develop it and to settle down intellectual properties according to contract culture and to open shop for a short period by using bulk purchase, joint distribution, joint marketing and analysis upon commercial area and location being different from the United States and to raise competitiveness and profits at early stage of brand launching and to be an area of domestic industry for relatively short time. These days, domestic franchise businesses have managed Korean system owing to success of Korean style franchise system to enter foreign market based on experience and know how of Korean style franchise system that the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Resources, SEMAS and the Association of Franchise Industry of Korea have supported. Korean franchise businesses' entry into overseas market requires wide range of market survey, and time, efforts and money for preliminary preparation to have risks. After investigating culture, customs, living life levels and associated laws and regulations, Korean franchise businesses are allowed to make decision of entry into overseas market. Korean franchise enterprises' entry into the Vietnamese market is still in beginning stage.
