Governance in India─Case Study on India’s Social Protection

Due to the practical difficulties and challenges in the process of governance, India’s commitment to building a “democratic, just and rich society” remains empty talk. Therefore, Indian government takes all kinds of measures to change the passive situation. Among which, social protection is an important measure to response to those challenges. So Indian government takes the steps in order to realize good governance by social protection, such as, making “national policies and development strategies concerning social protection”; launching social protection schemes for targeted groups both at the Central and State levels, which covers basic education, health, employment, social security, nutrition security, and social pensions, etc.; career of Indian social protection gained support from International teams; more organizations, namely civil society, NGOs, enterprises, individuals involved in social governance concerning social protection; social protection supported by High-tech.
