한국 신생벤처기업의 해외지식학습에 관한 연구

A Study on Foreign Knowledge Learning in Korean New Ventures

본 연구는 우리나라 신생벤처기업의 해외지식학습을 위한 결정요인을 규명하는 데에 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 문헌연구를 토대로 연구모형을 설정한 후 158개의 국내 벤처기업을 분석대상으로 하여 회귀분석을 통한 가설검증을 시도하였다. 실증분석 결과, 창업자의 해외경험과 기술혁신정도, 지식의존정도, 최초 해외진출시기 등이 상대적으로 높은 벤처기업일수록 신속한 해외진출을 통하여 해외지식을 보다 다양하게 학습할 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과는 우리나라 벤처기업들의 지속적인 성장에 창업초기부터의 적극적인 해외진출이 유의한 영향을 미치며, 이 과정에서 자신의 태생적 한계를 극복하기 위하여 기술혁신정도를 높이고 다양한 외부 네트워크를 활용하는 등 해외지식학습을 위한 노력이 필요하다는 시사점을 제공하여 준다.

This research aims to identify the determinants of foreign knowledge learning by Korean new ventures. To verify research hypotheses, 158 cases were collected as samples and the data was tested by regression analysis. The result of the analysis shows that Korean new ventures characterized by high international experience of founder, degree of technology innovation, degree of knowledge-dependency, and initial foreign entry timing are likely to learned foreign knowledge. The findings of this study suggest that venture firms in initial stage should utilize the internationalization strategy to keep their growth continuously, and in this process should adopt the foreign network strategy etc. to overcome their limitations.
