현장증거와 행동 평가를 통한 범죄 프로파일링에 관한 연구

A Study on Criminal Profiling through Crime scene Evidence and Behavioral Evaluation -Focusing on the murder of a high school girl in Gangjin-

사법처리에 있어서 정확한 범행 동기 파악이 반드시 필요한 요소는 아니다. 그러나 범죄학적 측면에서 본다면 정확한 범행 동기 규명은 매우 중요하다. 범행 동기 파악에서 중요한 선행 과정은 현장 증거 확보와 범행 과정을 통한 살인 성격 규명이다. 향후 유사사건 발생에 대비하여 자료와 경험의 축적이 필요하기 때문이다. 범행 동기 파악을 위해서는 현장 증거와 범행 과정상 드러난 범행 수법 혹은 서명행위와의 연관성 분석이 선행되어야 한다. 2018년 6월 발생한 강진 여고생 납치 살인은 범행 대상을 친한 친구 딸을 선택하였다는 점에서 특이한 사건이다. 범행 과정이 치밀하고 계획적이었고 현장 조작과 증거인멸 과정이 후속되었다. 이어 범행 의도가 드러나자 유력 용의자가 극단적 선택을 하여 정확한 범행 동기가 밝혀지지 못한 채 공소권 없음으로 사건이 종결되고 말았다. 현장에 남겨진 증거들과 범행 흔적에도 불구하고 범행 동기 파악이 이루어지지 않은 채 분석할 수 있는 기회가 결과적으로 사라져 버린 셈이다. 표면적으로는 피해자가 한 명인 단일 살인으로 간주되는 사건이나 현장 증거와 범행 과정 등을 고려하였을 때, 사건의 성격에 대해 여러 의문점이 제기되고 있다. 살인사건의 초범으로 보기 어려운 점, 현장 조작과 시신 처리 등 계획적 연쇄 살인범죄의 특징들과 일치하는 부분들이 많다. 따라서 사건 발생 단계별 행동 평가를 통해 사건의 성격과 범행 동기, 연쇄살인 가능성을 살펴보고자 한다.

In judicial processing, it is not essential to accurately identify the motives of the crime. However, from the criminological point of view, the precise identification of criminal behavior is a very important factor. An important precedent process in identifying the motive of a crime is securing crime scene evidence and identifying the classification of murder through the processing of the crime. Because it is necessary to accumulate data and experiences in preparation for the occurrence of similar crimes in the future. In order to identify the motive of the crime, linkage analysis between the evidence on the crime scene and the modus operandi or signature must be preceded. The kidnapping and murder of a high school girl in Gangjin area, which took place in June 2018, is a peculiar murder case in that offender selected a close friend s daughter as the target of the crime. The crime process was meticulous and deliberate, and after crime scene manipulation and evidence destruction were followed, the intent of the criminal was revealed, and within a few hours a suspect took suicide. The criminal case was ended without the proclamation rights. Eventually, there was no identification the exact motive of the crime. In spite of the evidence and traces of the crime left on the crime scene, the opportunity to analyze the crime without identifying the motive of the crime has disappeared as a result. Superficially, this murder case is a single murder with one victim. However, considering the evidence and the crime process, various questions have been raised regarding the nature of the murder case. It is a fact that there are many aspects that are difficult to consider as the first offender in the murder case, and that there are many parts that match the characteristics of the planned serial murder crime, such as crime scene manipulation and body handling. Therefore, I would like to examine the classification of the murder, the motive of the criminal behaviour, and the possibility of serial killing through the evaluation of the behavior at each stage of murder.
