Research on the Japanese Reading Education Method Using Translation Strategies

日本語の講読の授業において、テキストは一つの固定された言語単位として理解してはならない。特に文学のテキストは、本質的に作家の意図を文章で表現しているため、日本語になっている文学テキストをよく読んで理解するということは、著者の意図を理解することであり、同時に自国の文化と目標言語のテキストが意味しているものが有機的に存在しているように翻訳していくことを意味する。 そこで、論者は、等価翻訳が難しい状況で翻訳戦略を活用した、日本語講読教育方法について議論した。モナㆍベイカーの単語レベルの等価戦略を中心に事例分析と日本語講読教育方法を一緒に議論した。 その結果、次のような結論に達した。 まず、(等価翻訳が困難な状況、つまり、翻訳戦略を活用すると、)社会的協働と相互作用を介して、学習者の意思疎通力を向上させることができる。 第二に、教師主導の講義式授業から学習者参加型の討議ㆍ議論の授業に、学習者が主体となり学習活動で主導権を持つことが可能になる。 第三に、翻訳戦略を活用することで、学習者は積極的に知識を構成することができる。

Texts should not be understood as a single fixed language unit in Japanese reading classes. In particular, since literary texts essentially express the writer’s intention, reading and understanding Japanese literary texts lead us to understand the writer’s intention, and at the same time, it means that the meanings of our culture and target language texts are translated organically and vitally. The aim of this study is to research the ways of Japanese reading education using translation strategies in the Vegetarian. Especially we discussed the Japanese reading education method with case analysis focusing on some prominent word-level equivalence strategies among Mona Baker’s word-level equivalence strategies. Aa a result, this study reached the following conclusions. First, when equivalent translations are difficult, learners’ communication skills can be improved through social cooperation and interaction using various translation strategies. Second, from a professor-led lecture class to a learner-participating discussion class, it is possible for learners to take the initiative in learning activities as the subject of learning. Third, from the point of view of translation strategies, learners can actively construct knowledge not only in Japanese and Japanese culture, but also in Korean and Korean culture.
