The incidence of type 2 diabetes is increasing rapidly worldwide. The complications of Diabetes are significant cause of morbidity and mortality and are associated with the damage or failure of various organs such as the eyes, kidneys, nerves and cardiovascular diseases. Hence, strategy of type 2 diabetes prevention is very important. Although the genetic factors appear to play a powerful role in the occurrence of type 2diabetes prevention is very important. Recently, Well-designed randomized controlled trials (Finnish Diabetes Prevention Study and US Diabetes Prevention Program) for type 2 diabetes prevention in IGT by lifestyle modification programs have been reported In the Finnish and US study, there was a 58% relative reduction in the incidence of diabetes in the intervention group (lifestyle modification) compared with the control subjects. Aerobic type exercise as walking is likely to play a role in the prevention of type 2 diabetes. The aerobic exercise improves insulin sensitivity and reduces body fat. To prevention or delay progression of type 2 diabetes based on the some completed clinical trials, it should be suggesting that 150-210 min/week of moderate intensity and aerobic type activity in adults with high risk factors of diabetes and healthy individuals.
