This study aimed to investigate eating habits according to the status of beverage consumption for preliminary elementary school teachers in Gwangju, and also to suggest a plan for dietary education. The conclusions are as follows. As a result of the survey, the type of drink I enjoyed was ‘coffee’, followed by ‘carbonated drinks’, ‘others (milk, tea, ionized drinks, etc.)’ and ‘juice’. The average daily water intake was 41.3% of ‘1-3 glasses’. Male students consumed the most ‘carbonated beverage’ and female students consumed ‘coffee’, and there was a significantly difference. Female students were more likely to drink beverages as a meal replacement than male, and there was a significantly difference.. The group who consumed ‘others’ had the most balanced diet, and ‘coffee’. The group ingesting was not pretending to be a balanced diet, and there were significant differences between groups. The group who enjoyed carbonated beverages had significantly higher intakes of fast food and processed foods. In the group with experience in dietary life education, the frequency of consumption of fast food and processed food was significantly lower. As a result of investigating the frequency of intake of snacks such as candy, chocolate, and sweets according to the average daily water intake, the group who‘almost never drink water had a significantly higher frequency of snacking. As a result of the survey, it was found that beverage consumption of preliminary elementary school teachers affects their eating habits, and accordingly, beverage consumption education is necessary. In particular, since water intake is the most necessary during beverage intake, an application for smart devices was presented as a water intake education method. Education needs to change according to the change of the times, and the application can be used for dietary education such as water consumption education.
