본 연구를 통하여 필자는 74주년을 맞이하는 나그 함마디 문서(Nag Hammadi Library)의 발견, 연구사, 영지주의와의 연관성 등에 대한 연구의 흐름을 파악하면서 나그 함마디 문서가 지닌 최근 연구의 동향을 파악하고자 한다. 이어서 필자는 영지주의의 특성보다는 오히려 교회가 제도화되기 이전의 특징을 가지고 있는 문서인 『도마복음서』를 고찰하면서 나그 함마디 문서가 영지주의자들의 전유물이 아님을 새롭게 밝히고, 나그 함마디 문서가 지닌 또 다른 특징인 비영지주의적 내용 등에 관해서 연구의 지평을 넓히고자 한다. 또한 제임스 로빈스(James M. Robinson)이 나그 함마디 문서의 발견 74년 역사에서 공헌한 것이 무엇인지를 고찰해 보면서 필자의 연구를 이어가기로 한다. 과거에 『도마복음서』를 영지주의적 문서로 당연시하며 그 기록 년대를 2세기 이후로 정하여 『도마복음서』가 공관복음서에 의존해있다고 말하였던 경향과는 달리, 본 연구는 나그함마디 문서 가운데 『도마복음서』를 영지주의적 경향성을 가지고 있지 않은 문서로 간주하려고 한다.
Through this study, I have grasped the trend of research on the discovery of the Nag Hammadi Library (74th anniversary), the relationship between the researcher and the Gnosticism, I want to. In the following, I review the Gospel of Thomas, which is a document that has features before the church was institutionalized, rather than the characteristics of Gnosticism, and reaffirmed that the Nag Hammadi Library is not the exclusive property of the Gnosticists, I would like to expand the horizons of research on other features, such as non-Gnostic content. I will also continue my study by examining what James M. Robinson contributed to the 74-year history of the Nag Hammadi Library. In contrast to the tendency of the Thomas Gospels to be taken as gnostic documents in the past and to be based on the Gospel of Thomas as a document that does not have a Gnostic tendency.
