The Moderating Effects of Positive Parenting Attitudes on the Relationship between Mothers’ Creativity, Adolescents’ Creativity and Grit among Middle School Students

본 연구의 목적은 창의성에 대한 발달적·체계적 접근과 재능계발접근에 근거하여 환경과 개인적 요인의 상호작용을 분석하는 모형에 근거하여 어머니의 창의성과 청소년의 창의성 관계에서 청소년 그릿의 매개효과를 살펴보고, 이러한 매개효과가 긍정적 양육태도 수준에 따라 변화하는지 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한국청소년패널조사 2018의 제2차년도 자료 중 2,191명을 연구대상으로 하였다. SPSS Process Macro Model을 사용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 창의성과 청소년의 창의성 관계에서 청소년 그릿의 부분매개효과가 검증되었다. 둘째, 어머니의 창의성과 청소년의 그릿의 관계에서 부모의 긍정적 양육태도 중 구조제공의 조절효과만이 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니의 창의성과 청소년의 창의성 관계에서 청소년 그릿의 매개효과는 긍정적 양육태도 중 구조제공의 수준에 따라 달라져 조절된 매개효과가 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 구조제공 양육태도의 수준이 평균 이상일 경우에만 매개효과가 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과는 어머니와 자녀의 창의성의 관련성을 설명하는 그릿에 대한 정보를 제공하였고, 청소년의 그릿을 촉진할 수 있는 기제와 경로를 발견했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the moderated mediating effect of positive parenting attitudes through adolescents’ grit in the relationship between mothers’ creativity and adolescents’ creativity. Data from Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018 were used. 2,191 students in the first year of middle school were selected. They completed a questionnaire about creativity, grit, and positive parenting attitudes. Their mother completed a questionnaire about creativity Data were analyzed to assess the moderated mediating effect among variables using SPSS Process Macro Model 1, 4 and 7. The results of this study are as follows. First, there were partial mediation effects of adolescents’ grit on the relationship between mother and adolescents’ creativity. Second, The moderating effect of positive parenting attitude (structure) in the relationship between mothers’ creativity and adolescents’ grit was significant. Positive parenting attitude (structure) moderated the mediating effect of adolescents’ grit on the relationship between mother and adolescents’ creativity. The results of this study offered information about adolescents’ grit, which explain the relationship between mother and adolescents’ creativity. Also, this result identified a mechanism that promotes adolescents’ grit.
