
International organizations and its significance in international law

International organizations plays an important role in international laws. To understand the significance of international law, it is imperative to take into consideration that it is not concerned about individual s private matters; it deals with its subjects i.e., states among others. Domestic incidents, generally, are not considered relevant with matters concerning international law. However, it becomes relevant when for example, a domestic crime is committed by nationals of multiple countries. Accordingly, issues like climate change, terrorism or a failing global economy will be considered within the international ambiance. The application of international law will be implacable here. This is where the participation of various international organizations working on national and international interests comes to of grave importance. Nowadays, the number of international organizations are higher than the number of states in the world, since there are more than 300 intergovernmental organizations operating today. The United Nations is the most recognizable among them. It comprises of 193 member states and deals with vital issues including human rights, environment, social and economic development, and world peace among others. This paper therefore attempts to elucidate the significance of international organizations and its relevance to the development of international law, demonstrating how international organizations contribute to shaping the present international law in the perspective of globalization using available resources.
