찬송가 유입과 식민지 조선 음악의 양악화

The Influence of Hymn and Westernization of Colonial Choson Music

논문은 개항에서 일제강점기에 이르기까지 한국 사회에 선교사를 통한 찬송가가 유입되어 학교 교육과 사회음악에 어떤 영향을 미쳤는지에 대한 연구이다. 이 연구의 큰 방향은 두 가지이다. 하나는 선교사를 통한 찬송가의 유입이다. 또 다른 하나는 찬송가를 통해 학교 음악교육에 미친 영향과 사회음악에 미친 영향에 대한 연구이다. 선교사들의 선교활동을 통해 각 지역에 교회가 설립되었다. 그리고 각 교회에 예배가 드려졌으며 찬양대가 생겨나고 발표회가 이루어지면서 음악 활동이 이루어지게 되었다. 또한 연합찬양단이 생겨나 순회하며 연주하기도 하였다. 당시 교회음악은 기독교청년회나 소년회 등 단체중심으로 많이 활동하였다. 이러한 배경은 모두 선교사들을 통한 선교활동과 찬송가를 지도하면서 음악교육이 이루어지고 이러한 영향으로 사회의 음악으로 확산되고 정착되었다. 따라서 찬송가가 어떻게 유입되었고 음악교육이 이루어졌으며 우리나라에 서양음악이 확산되고 정착되었는지에 대한 연구는 창가의 발생 근원을 알 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 음악이 어떻게 변화 발전되었는지를 확인할 수 있어 큰 의의가 있다 할 것이다.

This study is about how the hymns through missionaries were introduced into Korean society from the opening of the port to the Japanese colonial period, which influenced school education and social music.,The main direction of this study is two main directions: one is the introduction of hymns through missionaries; the other is the study of the influence of hymns on school music education and the influence on social music. The missionary activities of missionaries led to the establishment of churches in each region, and worship was given to each church, and music activities were performed as praise was created and presentations were held.,Also, the Korean church music was performed by the group-centered group such as Christian Youth Association and Boys Association.,This background was all conducted by teaching missionary activities and hymns through missionaries, and music education was carried out and spread and settled into music of society.,Therefore, the study on how hymns were introduced, music education was conducted, and the spread and settlement of Western music in Korea is significant not only in identifying the origin of the window but also in confirming how music has changed and developed.
