장애인 공동체 캠프힐의 생활세계와 공동체 삶이 장애인 평생학습에 주는 의미

A Camphill Community Life-World and Implications for Lifelong Learning for People with Special Needs

이 연구는 장애인 평생학습을 위해 총체적 삶으로 접근하기 위한 학습생태계 구축이 필요하다는 문제제기로부터 출발하였다. 이를 위해 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 공동체를 이루고 살아온 80년 역사를 가진 캠프힐 공동체를 문화기술지 방법을 적용하여 탐구하고자 하였다. 캠프힐 공동체의 구성원이 생활세계를 어떻게 구성하고 경험을 통해 무엇을 학습하는지 살펴봄으로써 공동체 삶이 장애인 평생학습에 주는 의미를 탐색하였다. 공동체 주민은 안정적 삶의 자리, 새로운 경험, 사회적 의미를 만들어가는 다양한 목적으로 어우러져 살아가고 있었다. 이들은 경제적 수단으로 일하기보다 자립능력을 키우고 타인의 존재를 이해해가는 과정으로 일하고 있었고, 이 같은 환경을 구축해오고 있었다. 또한 관계의 다양성 속에 삶의 의미를 만들어 가고 있었다. 공동체 삶은 상호주체성을 바탕으로 장애라는 장벽을 허물며 존재와 존재로서 살아가고 있었다. 이는 끊임없는 실천을 통한 평생학습을 통해 가능할 수 있었다.

This study started from a critical mind that it is necessary to establish a learning ecosystem to approach a holistic life for lifelong learning for people with special needs. For the purpose of this study, we tried to explore a Camphill community, which has 80 years of history in which the disabled and the non-disabled lived together as a community by applying Ethnographic method. By examining how members of the Camphill community organize their life-world and what they learn through experiences, the meaning of community life on lifelong learning for people with special needs was explored. The residents of the community were living in harmony with various purposes of creating a stable place of life, new experiences, and social meaning. They were working in the process of developing self-reliance and understanding the existence of others, and have been building such an environment rather than working through economic means. Also, they were creating meanings of life in the diversity of relationships. Community life was a place where meeting each other as being and being, breaking down barriers of obstacles based on mutual subjectivity. This could only have been possible through lifelong learning through constant practice.
