The General Features and Trend of the Public Voice in Mongolia on the People’s Republic of China

In August 2014, the presidents of China and Mongolia signed a joint statement on developing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Mongolia and the People’s Republic of China. It serves as a monument of the cooperation between the two countries, signifying that a comprehensive strategic partnership has taken shape. As the Belt and Road Initiative in China meets with the Road of Development in Mongolia, the two countries scale new heights in bilateral ties. Since the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the new central leadership put forth a series of new ideas and measures. New atmosphere has unfolded before people’s eyes. Therefore, new perspectives and contents emerge in the report of China in the Mongolian media and public opinions, gradually forming a new trend. Through analysis, the thesis figures out that three major characteristics exist in the public opinion of Mongolia concerning China, namely the majority of positive comments on China, an increasing attention on China’s new ideas of domestic and foreign affairs, and the changes in views on China due to the electoral politics in Mongolia.
