Analysis of Plant Growth Using Electrodeless Plasma Lamp

In this study, we present a new artificial light source for plant growth. This light source is an electrodeless plasma lamp and is based on a novel technique that generates circularly polarized microwaves that can discharge atmospheric-pressure plasma to produce high-intensity white light. The electrodeless plasma lamp provides an light spectrum that is more similar to that of the sun than the spectra of conventional grow lamps, such as high-pressure sodium lamps, metal-halide lamps, and fluorescent lights. Furthermore, we conducted plant cultivation experiments to compare the effects of different grow lights on plants.
