This paper discussed the effect of the storage time on the characteristics and the attachability of activated sludge. The quantity of extracted extracellular polymer substances and hydrophobicity of activated sludge was increased with storage time. The hydrophobicity of extracellular polymer substances which was extracted from activated sludge was increased and zeta potential was decreased with storage time. When the component of extracellular polymer substances was analyzed with element analyzer, C component was increased, but H and N component was decreased with storage time. Attachability of activated sludge was increased with storage time.
