This study was carried out to determine the deodorizing ability of newly developed chelate deodorizers applied to livestock waste. The chelate deodorizers were made by using the waste water generated from an acorn starch. Deodorizersolutions included A deodorizer solution comprising Fe²⁺ chelate, B deodorizer solution comprising Fe²⁺ and Cu²⁺ chelate added by yeast, and C deodorizer solution comprising Cu²⁺ chelate. When the deodorizers were applied to pig feces, they showed an outstanding deodorizing effect, in that H₂S were eliminated by C deodorizer, CH₃SH by A or B deodorizer and NH₃ by B or C deodorizer. When the deodorizers were applied to chicken feces, they also showed an outstanding deodorizing effect, in that H₂S was eliminated by A or B deodorizer, CH₃SH by B deodorizer and NH₃ by C deodorizer. The higher the concentration of C deodorizer solution was the better the effect to eliminate NH₃ and (CH₃)₃N was the optimum dilution for deodorization was completed when C deodorizer was diluted 25 times with water.
