A Study on the analysis of global supply chain risks and the differences in the awareness

국제공급사슬 위험의 분석과 인식의 차이 고찰

세계화된 공급사슬은 관련 기업이 극복해야 하는 특별한 난제들을 만들어 낸다. 따라서 수시로 변하는 국제공급사슬에서 활동하는 기업에게는 공급사슬 위험관리가 필수적이라고 할 수 있다. 위험 분석은 어떠한 위험이 우선적으로 조절이 필요한지 알려준다는 점에서 위험관리의 중요한 단계 중 하나이다. 이러한 배경하에서 본 연구는 기존의 공급사슬 위험 인식 연구를 바탕으로 국제공급사슬 위험을 분석하고 공급사슬 당사자 간의 위험 인식의 차이를 고찰하고자 한다. 위험의 발생 빈도 및 영향 정도를 평가 분석하기 위해서 실무자를 대상으로 한 설문조사 및 통계분석이 수행되었다. 그 결과 빈도-영향 분석에서는 서류 관련 이슈와 정보 교환의 실패가 중요한 위험으로 나타났다. 이 두 가지 위험과 함께 비용 관련 위험, 정기선 시장 관련 위험, 통제 시스템 위험, 통관 관련 위험 등 총 10가지 위험이 중요한 위험으로 분석되었다. 위험의 인식에 대한 집단 분석 결과는 물류 중개인이 화주보다 물류 위험을 보다 심각하게 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났는데, 이는 국제공급사슬관리에 대한 노출과 경험에서 비롯되었다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 빈도 및 영향 분석을 통해 위험조절의 우선순위를 제공하였다는 점과 공급사슬 당사자들의 위험 인식에 차이가 생기는 원인을 밝혔다는 점에서 가치를 갖는다.

Globalized supply chains create a number of unique challenges which firms must overcome. Supply chain risk management is thus imperative for firms playing within ever-changing global supply chains. Risk analysis is an important stage of risk management because it can highlight which risks should be prioritized for risk mitigation. In this circumstance, this paper aims to analyze global supply chain risks and to investigate risk awareness between supply chain entities by further developing extant studies on the identification of supply chain risks. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey and statistical analyses were carried out to analyze the risks by evaluating the occurrence frequency and impact magnitude. The frequency-matrix analysis shows that document issues and failure in information exchange were found to be significant risks. Alongside these two risks, cost-related risks, liner market-related risks, control system risks, and customs-related risks claimed the top 10 significant risk clusters. From a group analysis on risk awareness, it was found that logistics intermediaries aware of global supply chain risk more seriously than shippers do due to their exposure to and experience of risks in global supply chain management. This research has value in suggesting the prioritization of risk mitigation by analyzing the frequency and the impact of global supply chain risks and showing why risk awareness can be different between entities in the supply chain.
