지리학습에서 개념의 위계 형성에 관여하는 요인 탐색에 관한 연구

A Study on the Exploration of Factors Involving Conceptual Hierarchy in Geography Learning: Focused on Urban Chapter in Middle School Social Studies

목적 본 연구는 중학교 사회 과목의 도시 단원에서 학습자의 지리적 개념 위계 형성에 관여하는 요인이 무엇인지를 도출하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 한다. 방법 연구의 목적에 도달하기 위해 본 논문에서는 중학교 3학년 학생 38명을 대상으로 3주간에 걸쳐 실험 연구를 실시하였다. 본 연구에서는 실험 연구의 결과에 해당하는 개념도를 분석하기 위해 범주 학습의 관찰 모델을 분석의 방법으로 적용하였으며, 학습자의 질적인 반응을 분석하기 위해 근거이론을 활용하였다. 결과 실험 연구의 분석 결과 ‘개념의 집합 구조’, ‘기본 개념의 수준’, ‘속성의 차이 습득’, ‘지식 효과’, ‘전문지식 효과’, ‘인지구조의 영향’, ‘지리 교재 구성’, ‘지리수업에 대한 관심’이 중학생의 도시와 관련된 개념 위계 형성에 관여하는 것으로 드러났다. 결론 교사가 도시 관련 수업을 통해 학생들에게 적절한 개념 위계를 형성하기 위해서는 지리 개념의 위계 형성에 관여하는 요인들을 고려한 교수 전략이 요구된다.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to derive the factors involved in the formation of a learner s geographic conceptual hierarchy in the urban chapter of the middle school social studies. Methods In order to reach the purpose of the study, this thesis conducted an experimental study for 38 students in third grade of middle school for three weeks. In this study, the bay watch model of category learning was applied as an analysis method to analyze the concept map corresponding to the result of the experimental study, and grounded theory was used to analyze the qualitative response of learners. Results As a result of the analysis of the experimental study, ‘collection structure of concepts’, ‘level of basic concepts’, ‘acquisition of differences in attributes’, ‘knowledge effect’, ‘expertise effect’, ‘influence of cognitive structure’, ‘geography textbook composition’, ‘interest in geography class’ were involved in the formation of a hierarchy of concepts related to urban of middle school students. Conclusions In order for a teacher to form an appropriate concept hierarchy of students through urban related classes, a teaching strategy taking into account factors involved in formation of a hierarchy of geographic concepts is required.
