본 연구는 지체부자유 학생의 여가활동 지도실태와 보호자의 욕구를 분석하여 지체부자유 학생 여가활동 프로그램 개발의 기초자료를 얻고자 실시되었다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지체부자유 학생의 여가활동 지도실태는 신체단련, 스포츠 영역의 프로그램이 대부분이다. 우가 많고 이들 중 대다수는 특별한 활동을 하지 않고 그냥 시간을 보내는 경우가 많다. 둘째, 지체부자유 학생 여가활동 필요성에 대한 보호자의 인식은 자녀의 자아 존중감, 자아개념의 발달 및 사회통합을 위한 비장애인과의 교류의 통로로 인식하고 있다. 셋째, 지체부자유 학생의 여가활동에 대한 보호자의 욕구는 통합교육 형태의 여가활동 프로그램이 개발되어 학교 및 지역사회에서 운영되고 이를 위한 여가시설 확충 및 지도자 배치를 원하고 있다.
The purpose of this study set out to investigate what kind of leisure activities students with physical and multiple disabilities enjoyed, to analyze their caretakers perception of the need for those activities along with their needs for those activities, and thus provide some basic data to develop such leisure activities programs as could fit students with physical disabilities. The method of this study was surveying with a questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of the items regarding the perception of the need for leisure activities, the current state of leisure activities guidance, and the caretakers needs for leisure activities. The subjects were the parents of the students with physical and multiple disabilities attending a school for such students located in Gwangju Metropolitan City and 120 residents of H Rehabilitation. With 21 questionnaires that didn t return or were insincere excluded, total 99 questionnaires were analyzed with Chi-square( ) test. The result of this study were as follows; First, most of the leisure activities guidance for the students with physical and multiple disabilities focused on physical training and sports programs. Second, the parents felt the need for leisure activities for their students with physical and multiple disabilities since they saw them as the tools to boost their self-respect and to develop their self-concept and as the channel through which to interact with non-disable people for social integration. Finally, the parents specified their needs for leisure activities for their by students with physical and multiple disabilities saying that the leisure activities programs should be developed in the form of integrated education, be run in school and community, and be supported by more leisure facilities and instructors. Based on the results, the following suggestions were made: First, it s necessary to develop and distribute diverse programs of leisure activities that can respond to the unique characteristics and needs of and students with physical and multiple disabilities stimulate their potential. Second, they should provide leisure education so that can make students with physical and multiple disabilities effective use of leisure time. Third, a proper environment must be created by increasing leisure facilities to which students with physical and multiple disabilities have access in school and community.
