특수교육에서의 치료교육과 관련서비스

본 연구는 최근 우리나라 특수교육에 있어서 특수교육진흥법과 특수학교 교육과정 개정과 맞물려 ‘뜨거운 감자’로 지칭되어 논쟁의 한 가운데 위치한 치료교육에 대해서 그 용어적 의미나 개념 재정립 보다는 현재적 의미에서의 올바른 역할 탐색을 위해 중재로서의 특수교육, 특수교육과 관련서비스, 그리고 관련서비스와 치료교육에 대한 원론적 입장에서의 의미를 재조명해 보고자 하였으며, 이를 통해 우리나라에서의 치료교육의 발전적 역할을 제언하고자 하였다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the current status and roles of therapeutic education and related service in special education. Special education is instruction designed for students with disabilities who also have special learning needs. Some of these students have difficulty learning in regular classrooms, but they need special education to function in school. Others generally do well in regular classrooms, but they need special education to help them master certain skills to reach their full potential in school. Related services are defined as transportation, and such developmental, corrective, and other supportive services..as may be required to assist a handicapped child to benefit from special education. Among the services specifically included with the related services definition are speech pathology and audiology, psychological services, medical services, physical and occupational therapy, recreation, and counseling. Therapeutic education is educational activities which is one area of the Korean national special school curriculum in special education. and therapeutic education is one in the related service which increases the efficiency of special education.
