미국의 통합교육 관련 통계자료가 국내 통합교육에 주는 시사점

Consideration on the Inclusive Education in Korea from the Statistics of the Inclusion in the U.S.

본 연구는 통합교육의 발전에서 주도적 역할을 해온 미국의 통합교육에 대해 살펴봄으로써, 국내의 통합교육 발전을 위한 과제 및 개선방안에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 우리나라를 비롯한 세계의 여러 나라들은 미국의 통합교육으로부터 영향을 받아왔다. 지금도 미국의 통합교육은 수많은 논의 속에서 시행착오와 함께 발전의 과정을 거치고 있기에, 현재의 미국 통합교육에 대한 통계자료를 살펴보고, 현 시점에서의 국내의 통합교육은 어떠한 방향으로 나아가야 할 것인지를 고민하는 것이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 통계 자료를 바탕으로 한 미국의 통합교육에 대한 실제를 살펴봄으로써, 현재 미국의 통합교육 실제에 대한 고찰 및 이를 토대로 국내의 통합교육의 방향을 설정하는 기초자료로 삼고자 한다.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the inclusive education in the U.S. and suggest the ways to improve the inclusive education in Korea. The inclusion of the U.S. influenced to that of other countries including Korea. Also, the inclusion in the U.S. tried many efforts to improve their own inclusive education. The study investigated the current statistical status of the inclusive education in the U. S. In specific, the study analyzed the placement of the student with special needs. In addition, the study looked over the perception of the general teachers on inclusive education in the U.S. Based on the analysis, the study suggested the application ways to improve Korea s inclusive education.
