치료지원에 관한 지체장애학교 특수교사의 인식과 요구

A Survey on Special Education Teachers Perception and demands of Therapeutic Supports for Students with Physical Disabilities

본 연구는 지체장애학생의 치료지원에 대한 특수교사의 전반적인 인식과 역할 인식, 개선 요구에 대한 설문조사를 통해 지체장애학생들에게 보다 효율적인 치료지원 방안을 모색하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 서울지역에 소재한 국·공·사립 지체장애 특수학교 5개교(국립 1개교, 공립 1개교, 사립 3개교), 총 167명의 특수교사에게 설문지를 배포하여 134부를 회수하였다(회수율 82.2%). 그 중 자료처리에 부적합한 8부를 제외한 126부를 대상으로 자료를 처리하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지체장애 특수학교의 교사는 치료지원 전반에 대한 인식과 장애인 등에 대한 특수교육법상의 치료지원 관련 사항에 대한 인식은 높지만, 치료지원과 관련한 세부 법안에 대한 인식은 부족하다. 둘째, 지체장애 특수학교 교사는 치료지원에 대한 특수교사의 역할을 중요하게 인식하고 있다. 셋째, 지체장애 특수학교 교사가 인식한 현행 치료지원의 가장 큰 개선 요구사항은 치료지원 관련 전문가와 교사의 관심과 이해 확대 방안의 마련이다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 지체장애학생의 치료지원을 위해 치료지원에 대한 이해와 관심을 높일 수 있고 전문성 신장에 기여할 수 있는 정보와 연수의 제공, 홍보, 지역사회 연계 및 협력, 치료지원 시스템 및 세부 지침 마련 등을 제안하였다.

The purpose of the study is to examine the teacher s demands on therapeutic supports for students with physical disabilities enrolled in special schools. For the purpose of the study, 167 special teachers in Seoul were interviewed with uses of a questionnaire and 126 of 134 copies collected were used for the final analysis. The results are presented as follows. First, the subjects perception on the concept of therapeutic support or relevant things in the special education law was high while their perception on specific things on the support was low. Second, most of the subjects perceived that the role of special education teachers in the therapeutic support is important and in particular, the role in management of the support. Third, it was responded that the biggest problem in the present therapeutic support policy was lack of interest and understanding by therapeutic experts and teachers. The results of the study will be used as basic data to present future directions in considering that there were few intensive studies on teachers perception and demands on therapeutic support for students with physical disabilities and special teachers role became more important through enaction of the special education law on disability.
