뇌성마비 유아의 다중지능 발달 특성

Multiple Intelligence Developmental Trait of Young Children with Cerebral Palsy

이 연구는 뇌성마비 유아의 성, 연령 및 장애정도별 발달 특성과 이 변인들이 다중지능 발달에 미치는 효과를 알아보았다. 이를 위하여 전국의 특수학교, 일반유치원 및 어린이집을 다니는 뇌성마비 유아 61명을 대상으로 다중지능발달검사를 실시하였는데, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전반적으로 뇌성마비 유아의 다중지능은 신체지능과 음악지능이 상대적으로 높고, 논리지능과 언어지능이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 뇌성마비 유아의 다중지능은 성차가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 셋째, 뇌성마비 유아의 다중지능 발달은, 음악지능과 대인관계지능, 개인이해지능의 경우 3세, 4세, 5세의 연령에 따른 발달 경향이 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 이 연구의 특수교육적 의의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이 연구는 뇌성마비 유아의 다중지능 발달 특성을 밝히는 국내 최초의 연구라는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이다. 둘째, 이 연구의 결과는 뇌성마비 유아의 지적 능력 발달을 이해하고 지도하는 데 있어서 중요한 단서를 제공할 수 있을 것이다. 셋째, 이 연구의 결과는 뇌성마비 유아의 다중지능 특성 및 프로파일을 분석하여 상대적 강점과 약점을 발견하고, 이를 바탕으로 강점을 이용하여 약점을 보완하는 조기교육 프로그램을 구안하는 데 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate multiple intelligence developmental trait by gender, age and disability level of young children with cerebral palsy and to analyze the effect of these variables on their multiple intelligence development. The result is as follows. First, young children with cerebral palsy had higher physical and musical intelligence, as lower logistic and linguistic intelligence than the others. Second, multiple intelligence of young children with cerebral palsy had a difference between male and female. Third, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal intelligence of young children with cerebral palsy showed significant developmental trend by their age, 3-5. The special educational implication of this study is as follows. First, this study had been attempted domestically for the first time to investigate multiple intelligence developmental trait of young children with cerebral palsy. Second, the result of this study will provide important clues to understand and teach intellectual abilities development of young children with cerebral palsy. Third, the result of this study will be used to identify relative strength and weakness by analyzing trait and profile of young children with cerebral palsy, and provide preliminary data to plan early intervention education program that make up for their weakness intelligence with their strength intelligence.
