절단장애인의 직업 유지 및 단절 경험에 관한질적 연구

A Qualitative Study on Experience of the Job,and Its Maintenance and Break of Persons with Amputation

절단장애인은 지체장애 영역에서 소수 장애로 학문적으로나 실천적으로 그다지 사회적 관심을 끌지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 그러나 최근 사고와 질환으로 인한 후천적 장애인의 지속적 증가 추세 가운데 그들에 대한 사회적 대처의 요구의 필요성도 점차 증대되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 지체장애인 중에서도 절단장애인의 직업 유지 및 단절 경험이 어떠한지를 질적 연구방법에 의해 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구 목적을 위해 눈덩이표집법에 의해 현재 직업이 있는 절단장애인 6명을 연구 참여자로 선정하여, 사례연구법에 의한 심층인터뷰를 실시하였다. 분석 결과, ‘개인적인 아픔’, ‘가정에서의 저하된 존재감’, ‘일을 향한 도전과 좌절’, ‘직업이 가져다준 새로운 삶‘, ’장애인으로 살아가야 하는 사회‘의 다섯 가지 범주가 도출되었으며, 각 범주에 따른 함의를 제시하였다. 이를 통해 절단장애인의 사회복지실천에 관한 기초적 지견을 얻고자 하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine experience of occupational break and maintenance of persons with amputation. Case study research in order to achieve the goal by applying the methods of the study participants through an in-depth interviews were conducted. As a result, 5 categories, 12 subcategories and 29 were derived from the concept. Those were personal suffering, low identity at home, frustration and challenge toward job, new life made by job, society to live as person with disabilities.
