보완대체 의사소통 사용을 위한 행동관찰 중재가 중도(重度)장애학생의 자기결정행동에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Action Observational Interventions for Using Augmentative and Alternative Communication on The Self-Determination Behaviorof Students with Severe Disabilities

본 연구는 AAC 사용을 위한 행동관찰 중재가 중도장애학생들의 자기결정행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 연구 목적을 위해 중도장애학생을 대상으로 참여자간 중다간헐기초선 실험설계방법을 사용하여 자기결정행동의 습득과 일반화, 유지 효과를 관찰하였다. 중도장애학생의 의사소통 훈련을 위해 AAC를 사용하는 모델의 행동을 관찰하고 관찰한 행동을 모방하여 AAC를 사용하여 자기결정행동을 수행할 수 있도록 행동관찰 중재를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, AAC 사용을 위한 행동관찰 중재는 세 명의 중도장애학생들의 자기결정행동을 향상시키는데 효과적이었다. 둘째, AAC 사용을 위한 행동관찰 중재로 변화된 자기결정행동이 다른 대화 상대자에게도 일반화되는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, AAC 사용을 위한 행동관찰 중재로 변화된 자기결정행동은 중재가 종결된 후에도 높은 수준으로 유지되었다. 이러한 결과는 자신의 선택과 선호도 표현에 어려움이 있는 중도장애학생에게 AAC 사용을 위한 행동관찰 중재가 자기결정행동에 긍정적 영향을 준 것으로 볼 수 있다. 또한 중재의 일반화 효과를 통해 중도장애학생도 학교나 지역사회에서 한 구성원으로서 자기결정행동을 할 수 있다는 가능성을 보여주었다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

This study aimed to look at the effects of action observation intervention for the use of AAC on the self-determination behavior of the subjects. The action observation intervention for the use of AAC, a multiple probe baseline across participants design were applied to all participants. In the action observation intervention, participants observe actions using visual effects on the actions of others or models on a screen, and repeatedly imitate the actions they observe. As well the subjects can observe the actions in a video and make their own decisions to questions from mediators. The results of the study were presented as follows: First, action observation intervention for the use of AAC was effective for promoting better self-determination behavior in the subjects. Second, action observation intervention for the use of AAC had different degrees of occurrence in the sub-skills of self-determination behavior. Third, self-determination behavior which changed through the intervention was generalized to other subjects of communication. This study had meaning in that it showed the possibility that action observation intervention for the use of AAC could enhance self-determination behavior in students with severe disabilities who had difficulty in expressing their own preferences and making choices.
