장애자녀 부모가 쓴 문학작품에서의 양육경험 고찰

The Exploration on Parenting Experiences in the Literature written by Parents of Children with Disabilities

본 연구에서는 장애자녀 부모들이 경험하고 쓴 64편의 문학작품에서 시대별로 어떠한 양육경험을 가지고 있으며, 이러한 작품들이 어떠한 내용들을 주로 다루고 있는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 결과 장애 가족들이 쓴 작품에서 시대별로 다소 차이가 있었다. 2000년 이전에 발표된 작품들의 경우에는 단순한 치료와 헌신적 노력 중심이었고, 2000년대 들어서는 장애에 대하여 보다 다양한 관점이나 장애 부모의 교육 등을 다루었으며, 2010년 이후에는 온 가족의 협력, 장애 부모와 전문가의 협력, 적절한 중재, 장애 부모의 행복 갖기, 자녀 평생 설계 등이 나타났다. 양육경험별 특성에서는 1) 극복하는 부모경험, 2) 성공하는 자녀경험, 3) 협력하는 사회경험과 같은 3가지 범주들을 알 수 있었다. 첫 번째 범주인 어려움에 대한 극복에 있어 부모들은 긍정적인 수용, 회복에 대한 신념, 부모의 행복 추구를 통해 이루어나갔음을 알 수 있었다. 두 번째 범주인 자녀에 대한 양육의 성공과 관련해서는 자녀의 특성을 이해하고 자녀의 성공에 대하여 지켜보고, 미래에 대한 설계를 가지는 것임을 알 수 있었다. 이 가운데 장애 아동의 성공에 있어서는 다소 논의가 이루어질 필요가 있었다. 세 번째 범주인 협력하는 사회 경험은 지역의 자원을 활용하거나 네트워크를 구축하고 지역사회에서 다양한 시민생활을 원하는 것으로 나타났다.

This study explored the parenting experiences at the contents, the characteristics according to ages, and the main stories in 64 works written by family of children with disabilities. The results of the study showed the differences of works according to ages. The works written prior to the year 2000 usually dealt with treatment and dedication. The more various perspectives or education about parents were written during the 2000s. The cooperation of all family members, the cooperation between parents and professionals, the appropriate interventions, the pursuit of happiness towards parents, and the life design for children appeared after the year 2010. The characteristics of parenting experiences showed 3 categories: 1) parents’ experiences overcoming parents’ difficulties, 2) experiences over their children’s success, and 3) cooperative social experiences. This study showed that parents could overcome their difficulties by the positive acceptance, belief about recovery, and pursuit of their own happiness. Regarding second category, their children’s success, parents understood about their children’s characteristics, encouraged their children’s success, and design their children’s future. Among these components, the success of children with disabilities needed to be further discussed. The third category, cooperative social capacity included the utilizing community resources, building network, and doing successful civil life in community.
