특수교육학개론 교직과목에서의 보편적 학습설계 훈련을 통한 예비 일반교사의 인식 변화

Changes in Pre-Service Teachers Perception through the Training in Universal Design for Learning at the Introduction to Special Education Course

연구목적: 본 연구는 보편적 학습설계 적용 훈련에 초점을 둔 ‘특수교육학개론’ 교직소양과목을 수강하였던 예비 일반교사를 대상으로 보편적 학습설계에 대한 경험과 인식을 질적연구 심층면담을 통해 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법: ‘보편적 학습설계 훈련 프로그램’은 총 5회기로 ‘UDL 워크샵’ 강의와 ‘UDL 노트’ 과제로 구성되어, 일반교과 교육과정을 보편적 학습설계로서의 교육과정으로 수정하는 연습을 하였다. 연구 참여자는 총 7명으로, 심층면담을 실시하였고 면담 자료는 연속적 비교분석법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 참여자 확인과 동료 검토를 통해 내적 타당도를 확인하였다. 연구결과: 분석 결과, 3가지 주제 영역(통합교육에 대한 인식, 장애에 대한 인식, 보편적 학습설계에 대한 인식)에 대한 9가지 하위 주제가 도출되었다. 예비 일반교사들은 통합교육 및 장애에 대한 이해가 증진되어 교수적 역할과 책임감을 경험하게 되었고, 보편적 학습설계에 대한 긍정적인 인식을 가지게 되었으며 통합학급에서의 교수적 실천역량에 대한 효능감을 가지게 되어 교사로 한층 성장하는 계기가 되었다. 결론: 본 연구는 ‘보편적 학습설계 훈련 프로그램’ 교육과정이 삽입된 특수교육학개론 교직소양과목을 개발하여 제안한다는데 의의가 있다. 또한, 예비 일반교사들의 경험과 성찰에 기반하여, 통합교육 환경에서의 교수적 실천역량을 점검하였다는데 의의가 있다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 바탕으로 향후 교육 현장에의 적용을 위한 시사점과 후속연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences and perceptions of universal design for learning(UDL) through qualitative study with pre-service teachers who have taken Introduction to Special Education; course focusing on UDL application training. Method: The UDL training program consisted of 5 sessions, UDL workshop and UDL note activities that practiced modification of general curriculum into a universally designed curriculum. A total of 7 participants were interviewed in depth and the data were analyzed using continuous comparative method. The internal validity was confirmed through member check and peer debriefing. Results: As a result, 3 main themes (i.e., perception of inclusive education, disability, and teacher efficacy) and 9 sub-themes were identified. Participants have experienced the professional role and responsibility of the inclusive education and increased understanding of the disability. Additionally, participants had a sense of teacher efficacy in inclusive education environment. Conclusion: This study was meaningful in that it proposed Introduction to Special Education in which UDL training program was inserted, and checked pre-service teachers practical ability in the inclusive education environment. Based on the results, implications and suggestions were provided.
