One of the most important goals of teaching English is to improve learners communicative competence, which focuses both on accuracy and fluency of language use. However, the focus on communicative language teaching has been often misled to focus only on the meaning at the expense of the accuracy of the form. Dictogloss is a method based on focus-on-form approach that pays equal attention to both meaning and form. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of dictogloss in teaching English phrasal verbs to middle school students. For the purpose of the study, ten third grade middle school students participated in the study for four weeks. A noticeable difference was observed in the students use of phrasal verbs in the post-tests. The results suggest that dictogloss can be an effective instructional tool in teaching grammar to enhance students awareness of meaning and form of the phrasal verbs.
