특수교육교사의 교직선택동기와 직무만족도에 관한 연구

A Study on the Motives of Choosing a Teaching Profession and Job Satisfaction among Special Education Teachers

본 연구는 특수학교에 근무하고 있는 특수교육교사들을 대상으로 교직선택동기와 직무만족도에 대해 살펴보고, 이들 두 변인 간의 상관관계를 파악하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 B시의 12개 특수학교에 근무하는 유·초·중등 특수교육교사 총 253명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 특수교육교사들의 교직선택동기는 직위, 연령, 학교급별, 장애인 접촉경험, 봉사경험에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 특수교육교사들의 직무만족도는 성별, 연령, 학교급별, 설립 유형, 장애인 접촉경험, 종교, 봉사경험에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 교직 적성, 사회적 존경, 자아실현 가능성 등의 교직선택동기와 직무만족도 간에는 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 반면 우발적 동기와 직무만족도 간에는 부적 상관관계가 나타났다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the motives of choosing a teaching profession and job satisfaction among special education teachers. The the results and discussion are as follows: First, the factors that affect motives of choosing a teaching profession in special education are their positions at school, age, level of school, contact experience with people with disabilities, and volunteer experience. Second, the factors that affect teachers job satisfaction in special education are sex, age, level of school, kind of school foundation, contact experience with people with disabilities, religion, and the volunteer experience. Third, the level of job satisfaction is found to be higher in the group with the aptitude for a teaching profession, a social respect, and a self-realization. On the other hand, the level of job satisfaction is found to be lower in the group with an casual motive.
