The syntactic and semantic complexity of the so-called numeral classifier (NC) constructions in languages like Korean challenge theoretical as well as computational approaches. This paper provides a constraint-based analysis of the NC constructions within the framework of HPSG together with MRS (Minimal Recursion Semantics) semantic representations. The analysis presented here enables us to capture the intriguing syntactic properties of these constructions as well as provide appropriate semantic representations for the constructions in question.
