The primary purpose of this paper is to descriptively analyze the syntactic aspects of the Old English version of The Story of Apollonius of Tyre based on Thorpe s 1834 edition and translation of the Old English Apollonius of Tyre, MS Corpus Christi College Cambridge 201, dated to the mid-11th century. This Old English Version is a translation of a Latin prose version of the Historia Apollonii Tyrii, the original source of which is believed to be Greek. The main concerns of this paper are focused on the description of syntactic structures, such as NP, VP, and PrepP, and some syntactic aspects are also discussed on passive, tense, extraposition, the word-order pattern, etc.
