Korean students who do well on the standardized TOEIC test frequently cannot speak at the corresponding speaking level prescribed by ETS. This problem is present in Korea and requires urgent remedy. A new 3-week adult immersion camp, focusing on TOEIC with native English instructors was designed, targeting on the two goals of communicative and practical performance-building objectives together. The camp organizers used TOEIC based instruction with immersion environment. After 3 weeks, university students average TOEIC score has increased by 67 points and interview results have been increased by 42%. In effect, oral proficiency as well as the students TOEIC scores has increased. In addition, not only the advanced group but also the beginner group made a significant progress so that their level was raised up to the intermediate group. For those who want to develop a similar program for their students, the ground-breaking endeavor would be saved through this article.
